The Department of Statistics is considered one of the modern departments in general compared to the rest of the scientific departments in the College of Science. The department was officially opened in the fall semester of 2008 AD. This department aims to qualify cadres specialized in statistics sciences equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the labor market in the field of statistics.
